About disk space

A 60 min DV tape occupies 13GB of disk space (DV). Compression to MPEG-4 squeezes it to one tenth, in the example case 1.25GB.

Atific Video Collection immediately saves 13GB of temporary space, but the saving can be much more in practise. Users of typical video editing software might not know that also captured DV files (temporary files) are left of the disk also after compression and can only manually be removed.
